There are some issues that many men struggle with, but are even more common among men who struggle with addiction. It is important to resolve these issues and not let them go unaddressed, as it may be difficult for a successful recovery to properly occur.
Men in Recovery addresses many of these issues over 18 sessions with a designated group and professional facilitator. The four modules; the Self, Relationships, Sexuality, and Spirituality, discuss how addiction affects these key aspects of a client’s life, how they can also serve as triggers for relapse, and why they are often the source of the most dramatic change in both addiction and recovery. Men in Recovery covers many topics, including:
- Identity
- Self-Awareness
- Relaxation Techniques
- Communication
- Inherent vs. Constructed Norms
- Impact of the Family and Other Relationships
- Barriers to Relationships
- Healthy Relationships
- Trauma and Abuse
- The Impact of Mood-Altering Substances
- Healthy Sexuality
- Consent
- Spirituality vs. Religion
- Power and Privileges’ in Society
- Creating a Vision
- Reflection
Men in Recovery is not a module in our Residential Recovery Program, but a unique program that is used to complement it and is not offered to the general public.
